Long Game
LONG game SMART targets are designed to challenge players from 200 yards to 25 yards with approach shots, pitches and chips. On the course, these shot types typically come to rest on the green and the skills required are accuracy and distance control" - delete "so the ball lands at the perfect place for putt. Hence these SMART targets are octagonal in design and contain the ball. The reducing sizes (30ft, 20ft and 10ft diameter) of the 3 SMART targets reflect the desire to be increasingly accurate the closer you get to the hole.
- APPROACH-30 Normally sits 200 - 75yds away, 30ft diameter, frame height of 5ft
- PITCH-20 (100 - 35yds away), 20ft diameter, frame height of 4ft
- CHIP-10 (50 - 25yds away), 20ft diameter, frame height of 2.5ft
LONG game SMART targets are often used for spectator games and competitions. The relatively large size of the APPROACH-30 and PITCH-20 SMART targets make it perfect for large group competitions with large crowds because they are easy for spectators to see.
Using your LONG game SMART targets
The TOURNAMENT SHOOTOUT is a common game played after a tournament round. Players or teams attempt to hit the target more times than other competitors within a certain time frame or number of shots.
The SMART target and hitting zone are usually situated so a gallery of competitors and spectators can crowd around the competitors, adding to the fun and excitement, and pressure!
Players / teams try to win a knockout competition for prizes or the whole group may attempt to accumulate as many successful shots (points) collectively for charity in a sponsored event.
